Granite Countertops in Frankfort, IL
Granite is a natural stone with unique veining and color variations, so no two kitchens look alike. It is known for its durability and stain resistance, and it stands up to everyday wear and tear – scratches and spills. Always use trivets for hot pans: damage from heat is not covered by warranty for any material. Properly sealed, granite resists stains, and it can be more affordable than quartz, especially for less exotic varieties.
Choose your slab in person
We have hundreds of materials in stock at our Frankfort facility and a quick-turnaround program on more than 150 colors. You can pick from our stock or from one of the many suppliers in the area, and every slab is inspected on arrival. Because granite is a product of nature, it commonly contains pits, fissures, veining and color variations. These are part of its character and are not defects.
Measured, cut and installed by our team
We laser-measure your cabinets with a Laser Products LT-2D3D, cut your tops on our Baca Robo SawJet and Donatoni 625 Jet, and use seam setters to make seams as tight as practical. Most installations need seams; they are about 1/16" wide, filled with color-matched epoxy, and will be visible. Overhangs over 8 inches, and any overhang on a 4-inch knee wall, need supports you install before installation.
Sealing and care
Cleaning and sealing natural stone (granite, marble, quartzite, and other natural stone) is the final step of your installation: we apply Miracle Sealants 511 Impregnator, which forms an invisible barrier that resists moisture and stains while still letting vapor escape. For daily cleaning, use mild soap and water or 409 Natural Stone Cleaner and wipe up spills right away. We recommend re-sealing your natural stone every 6 months with 511 Impregnator; damage from failure to reseal natural stone is not covered by warranty. A light haze or streaking can appear for up to three weeks after sealing; it disappears with regular cleaning. Never sit, stand or walk on your countertops.
