It generally resists scratches, chips and stains, it never needs sealing, and it comes in a wide variety of colors, styles and patterns. Quartz is manufactured with consistent color and pattern throughout the slab, though shade and pattern can vary between production batches and from showroom samples. It can cost more than granite but offers long-term savings because it is so easy to care for.

What to know before you choose quartz

• Heat: quartz is not heat-resistant. Hot pans and appliances can cause discoloration or cracking that is not covered by warranty, so use trivets.
• Color batches: quartz, porcelain, and other engineered surfaces can vary in shade and pattern between production batches and from showroom samples.
• Warranty: manufacturer warranties on quartz pass through to you and are handled by the manufacturer; our work is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from completion (heat damage excluded) – see the terms summary.
• Care: wipe with mild soap and water. Quartz does not require sealing. Never sit, stand or walk on your countertops.

From showroom to installation

Choose from hundreds of materials in stock at our Frankfort facility or from one of the many suppliers in the area. We laser-measure your space, fabricate on our Baca Robo SawJet and Donatoni 625 Jet, and install with seam setters. Most installations need seams; they are about 1/16" wide, filled with color-matched epoxy and made as tight as practical, but they will be visible.
